I think were too old (my parents anyway) to go amusement parks, and we don’t like the beach(how anti Californian can we possibly be?) we just want to stay within in city limits (we live in San Diego, ca)

I am taking a mediterranean cruise and my girlfriend loves wine tasting. I am building a list of cities that i would like to go to and would like to add one with a wine tasting excursion. What cities have a good wine tasting experience. I have heard about a Pompeii wine tasting where they make wine the way they did before
Pompeii was buried. I also heard about Santori Greece. Where have you gone to and what place has the best?
Madrid is in the almost dead center of the ibberean peninsula. So its not a port city but i was thinking sicily to have a nice wine tasting and pasta.

I am going in December and have always wanted to see some of the ruins but have never had the chance. Is it worth most of my shore time (6.5 hours out of a total of 9 hours)?

I am looking for a nice (4+ star) Mexican resort area to please adults and a 16 year old son. We would like to be able to relax at the beach, near calm swimable waters, do a half-day ATV Excursion, and have other available activities. Was considering Cabo San Lucas and Cozumel.
